1321 2nd Avenue
April 26, 1996
Across the street
workers demolish a building
into a waste of materials
and a waste of planning.
Did the original architect
want this to be scrap;
a nuisance to load and carry and dump?
If that architect were here
would I sense relief
because workers demolish
what was once a dream?
It's eerie to watch history crumble.
I only think, Don't fall on me.
